[edit] Tom Simpson (politician)

I removed a large section of Tom Simpson (politician) because it was based on text copied from the web page http://www.tomsimpson.ca/abouttom. This web page states "Copyright © 2007 Tom Simpson All rights reserved". If you have a reason to believe that this text can be used in Wikipedia please explain the reason on Talk:Tom Simpson (politician). -- Patleahy 20:50, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Can you address the concern I raised at Talk:Tom Simpson (politician) that this text is "unduly self-serving" self-published information and therefore should not be included in the encyclopedia (see WP:SELFPUB)? Thanks, Patleahy 20:36, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Not self publsihed. Similar to website yes but done independently. Please do not allege self publish. Copy edits welcome, but the material is posted independently by a third party. The text is about Tom Simpson, it is copyright Tom Simpson and is on Tom Simpson's campain website. If it is not self published who published this? -- Patleahy 03:26, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

I would like to help improve this article. Could you provide reliable, published sources of information about Tom Simpson which I could use? The only thing I found in a web search was a student newspaper article [1]. -- Patleahy 05:50, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
When I say that the text is self published I am not referring to the publishing of the text on www.tomsimpson.ca and not the coping of the text to this encyclopedia. Since the web page is about Tom Simpson, it is copyright Tom Simpson and is on Tom Simpson's campaign website I think it is fair to say that the page http://www.tomsimpson.ca/abouttom is self published.
