Hobby's Jump

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

HOBBY's JUMP (ホビーズジャンプ Hobiāsu Janpu?) is a Jump magazine created by Shueisha's Monthly Shonen Jump. The magazine was a prototype of V Jump and mainly focused on Video games for older game systems and home compters; most likely the Famicom, (of Nintendo fame, called the Nintendo Entertainment System in the U.S.) MSX, (of Microsoft fame) and Sega SG-1000 Mark III. (of Sega fame, called the Sega Master System in the U.S.) It's sister magazines are Weekly Shonen Jump, Ultra Jump, Young Jump, and Super Jump. The magazine lasted through 1983 and 1988, a few years before V Jump started in 1993. Monthly Jump also helped launch V Jump. Some of the games that Hobby's Jump most likely featured were Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, (a.k.a. Dragon Warrior) Super Mario Bros., and Donkey Kong.
