[edit] Dr. Hoagy

The article notes that Hoagy got an honorary doctorate in music from Indiana. There's a "citation needed" after that. I found a page at indiana.edu that lists the honorary degrees they've awarded, and sure enough, "Hoagland Carmichael" is there. Sadly, I don't know how to add the needed reference to the article. Here's the URL: http://www.indiana.edu/~ceremony/honors/honorarydegrees.shtml Can some clever Wikipedian hook this up? 151.199.248.111 03:38, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Citation Edits done!

I was happy to not only add the citation you pointed out, but to also cite his addition to the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Refsworldlee 02:37, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Influence

It said in later years, it said that John Lennon was a fan of Carmichael. I don't know if he was. I do know that George Harrison had Carmichael as his biggest pre-rock influence. It could be a typo that Lennon admired Carmichael. This should be looked into. Harrison; it's well known to us fans.Sposato (talk) 04:23, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

"Well known to us fans" - that's not a published reliable source though is it? I am updating the citation tag in the article, and if not answered within a reasonable time, the unrefrenced content may well be removed. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 09:34, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] To Have and Have Not

I believe that Hong Kong Blues IS one of the songs played in the movie. I think the first paragraph in 1940 section should be updated. I have watched it often enough to recall the song specifically - I don't have a copy of the movie handy, can someone confirm? —Preceding unsigned comment added by F4goto (talk • contribs) 05:06, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Yes, it's definitely there. --ubiquity (talk) 10:09, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
