Ho Chio Meng

This is a Chinese name; the family name is Ho.

Ho Chio Meng (1955-) is the Procurator-General of Macau, the lead law officer in Macau.

Born in Macao, Ho moved back to China in l958 and did not return to the MSAR until 1990.

Ho worked in various government positions in the mainland:

  • import and export company of foodstuffs under the Guangzhou Bureau for foreign trade from l972-1979

He studied law at Southwest China University of Political Science and Law from l979 to l983 and Ph.D. in economic laws from the Law College of Beijing University

Ho served in Guangdong Provincial People's High Court from 1987 to 1990.

After resettled in Macau in l990, Ho went to Coinbra University in Portugal to further his study in the Portuguese law by obatining a bachelor's degree in law.

In Macau he was High Commissioner's Office Against Corruption of Administrative Illegality from l993 to 1996 and then as assistant commissioner.

He is now also the Deputy High Commissioner in the High Commissioner's Office Against Corruption of Administrative Illegality.
