Ho Chi Minh City Open University (Vietnamese language: Đại học Mở Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh is located in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This is the first open university in Vietnam. The original name of this university was Ho Chi Minh City Open and Semi-Private University established on 26 July 1993 by Decision no. 389/TTg by Vietnamese prime minister. The university obtained present name on 26 June 2006 by Decision 146/2006/TTg by Vietnamese prime minister.
