I have made the distinction that Matapan, along with sister ships Agincourt, Aisne, Alamein, Barrosa, Corruna, Jutland and Dunkirk were later, or 1943 Battle class ships because there were significant differences between these and the earlier 1942 ships, both in length and beam and also in armament.
