[edit] Oxford University Royal Naval Unit
Oxford University Royal Naval Unit was founded in 1994 to educate high calibre undergraduates as to the role and function of the Royal Navy. It recruits students primarily from Oxford University, Oxford Brookes University and Reading University. Based at Falklands House in Oxford, Oxford URNU offers training in navigation and seamanship to around 51 undergraduates through a programme of classroom-based instruction at weekly 'drill nights' and sea time aboard HMS Tracker. Students hold the rank of Honorary Midshipman in the Royal Naval Reserve and are paid for their time at standard Navy rates.
