HMS Lee was a small 20 gun frigate built in 1814 by Josiah and Thomas Brindley, nephews to Lord Nelson, at one of their three yards in Frindsbury in Kent. After the end of the Napoleonic War in 1815, John Pasco was given command of HMS Lee. It was employed in the English Channel for the suppression of smuggling. He held this position until 1818.
