HMS H17
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
HMS H17 was a British H class submarine built by Fore River, Quincy, Massachusetts as part of the second batch of H class submarines. She was laid down and commissioned on unknown dates.
HMS H17 was not released to the British until the USA entered World War One. HMS H17 was one of the 5 H class submarines to be ceded to the Chilean navy as recompense for the inconvenience of purchasing two of its 28,000 ton dreadnoughts which were being built at the outbreak of World War One.
HMS H17 was renamed Rucumilla (H3) and served until 1945 when she was scrapped.
