HMS H13
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
HMS H13 was a British H class submarine built by Fore River Yard, Quincy, Massachusetts. She was laid down on an unknown date and was commissioned in 1918.
HMS H13 along with HMS H11, HMS H12 and HMS H14 to HMS H20 were all built in America but were interned by Washington until the USA entered World War 1.
HMS H13 was not commissioned by the Royal Navy, instead, she and HMS H16 to HMS H20 were transferred to the Chilean Navy as some recompense for the inconvenience of purchasing two of the Chilean Navy's 28,000 ton dreadnoughts (Almirante Latorre and Almirante Cochrane). Her new name: Guacolda (H2).
Guacolda was possibly scrapped (?) in the late 1940's.
