HMS Fame was an F class destroyer of the Royal Navy. She was launched by Vickers-Armstrong in 1934. Fame served as leader of Mid-Ocean Escort Force group B-6 from early 1942 with convoys SC-83, ON-101, SC-88, ON-111, HX-200, ON-122, HX-205, ON-132 and SC-104.[1] Fame sank U-353 while escorting Convoy SC-104 on 16 October 1942.[2] Fame then lead the escort of convoys ON-144, HX-217, ON-155 and SC-116[3] before sinking U-69 while escorting Convoy ON-165 on 17 February 1943.[4] Fame lead Escort Group B-6 through March of 1944 for convoys HX-227, ONS-1, SC-125, ONS-6, SC-131,[5] HX-257, ON-206, SC-145, ONS-29 and HX-281 before transferring to the 14th Escort Group for Operation Overlord.[6] Fame participated in the sinking of U-767 by the 14th Escort Group on 18 June 1944.[7] Fame was sold to Dominica in 1949.
