HMS Dublin

Five ships of the Royal Navy have been named HMS Dublin, after the Irish city, Dublin:

• Dublin was a 10 gun yacht, 148 tons (builder's measure), launched at Deptford on 13 August 1707 and broken up in October 1752.
• Dublin was the name of a 10 gun yacht. The vessel was renamed HMS Dorset on 11 July 1753 a few days before her launch on 17 July. The vessel was sold in 1815.
• Dublin was a 74 gun third rate ship of the line, and lead ship of the Dublin class ships of the line, launched at Deptford on 6 May 1757. She was the first British "74". She was broken up at Plymouth in 1784.
• Dublin was another 74 gun third launched at Rotherhithe on 13 February 1812. The armamement was reduced to 50 guns in December 1826, and the ship relegated to harbour duties in 1845. Sold for scrapping in July 1885.
• Dublin was a Chatham Class Light Cruiser, launched on 30 April 1912 and served in the First World War. She sold for scrapping at Troon in 1926.
