HMS Ajax was a 74-gun third-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, launched on 3 March 1798. She fought at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. During the battle she assisted Orion in forcing the surrender of the French seventy-four Intrépide.
Ajax was destroyed in an accidental fire while serving in the Dardanelles in 1807 as part of a squadron under Admiral Sir John Duckworth.
