Hmong textile art

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The textile art of the Hmong people are simple patterns cross-stitched with threads from bright color fabrics. [1]The patterns are then sewn down to the Hmong traditional clothes and displayed during the New Year celebration. [2] Another form is cutting the pattern out on a fabric and sewing it down onto another fabric of a different color. The edges of the cut pattern is then folded underneath and stitched down to the bottom fabric.
