HMNZS Endeavour (A11) is the current fleet oiler for the Royal New Zealand Navy. She is named after Captain Cook's Bark Endeavour and is the third ship in the navy to carry that name. The previous two ships were Antarctic research support vessels. The current Commanding Officer is Commander David John Toms, MNZM, RNZN.
Endeavour was built in South Korea to a commercial design and commissioned on the 8 April 1988. The RNZN is currently searching for a replacement for Endeavour which is expected to be retired by 2013.[1]
