From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

HMCS Eastview (K665) was a River class frigate that served the Royal Canadian Navy from 1944-1946.

Named after the Ottawa suburb of Eastview (now Vanier), she was built by Canadian Vickers Ltd., Montreal and commissioned into the RCN on 3 June 1944 at Quebec City.

She arrived at her homeport of Halifax, Nova Scotia on 26 June 1944 and was posted to convoy duties in the North Atlantic.

She was paid off from the RCN on 17 January 1946 and was sunk with several other former RCN warships to form a breakwater in Comox, British Columbia.
