AWM Caption: WILLIAMSTOWN, VIC. C.1948. PORT BOW VIEW OF THE RIVER CLASS FRIGATE HMAS CONDAMINE (K698). CLEARLY SHOWN IS THE FORWARD TWIN 4 INCH MARK XIX MOUNTING WITH RAILS FOR ILLUMINATING ROCKETS ATTACHED TO ITS SIDE. FORWARD OF IT IS THE HEDGEHOG ANTI SUBMARINE MORTAR. NOTE THE TYPE 285 FIRE CONTROL RADAR ON THE HIGH ANGLE DIRECTOR ON THE BRIDGE. SC-1 RADAR IS FITTED AT THE TOP OF THE FOREMAST AND TYPE 276 ON PLATFORM HALFWAY UP THE MAST.
