HMAS Wewak (L 130) is the fifth ship of the Balikpapan class of heavy landing craft. She was laid down by Walkers Limited at Maryborough in Queensland in March 1972 and launched on 18 May 1972. She commissioned into the Royal Australian Navy on August 10, 1973.
