HMAS Vendetta (D08) was a Daring class destroyer of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). She was laid down by the Williamstown Dockyard at Melbourne in Victoria on 4 July 1950, launched on 3 May 1954 and commissioned on 26 November 1958.
Vendetta was the only Australian-built warship to perform in an active combat role in the Vietnam War.[1] During this time she saw service as part of the USN shore barrage, ably demonstrating her superiority as a purpose built gun ship, with her pin-point accuracy and high rate of fire.
HMAS Vendetta paid off on 9 October 1979.
