Three ships of the Royal Australian Navy have been named HMAS Perth after Perth, the capital city of Western Australia.

Perth was sunk along with the USS Houston in the Sunda Strait between the Indonesian Islands of Java and Sumatra by the Japanese Navy. The Battle took place on the night of 28 February 1942 (The Perth sunk at just after midnight of the 1st of March.) The USS Houston lasted longer. Both ships were lost with their Commanding Officers.

Perth II was sunk off Albany Western Australia as an artificial reef after being gifted to the State Government from the Federal Government. Various community groups and Local Government Authorities vied for the Perth with Albany's bid being successful.
