HMAS Flinders

HMAS Flinders (A-312), named for Matthew Flinders (1774-1814), is an oceanographic survey ship laid down by HMA Naval Dockyard at Williamstown in Victoria on 11 June 1971, launched on 29 July 1972 and commissioned on 27 April 1973.
