Hlib Lonchyna

Bishop Hlib Lonchyna (b. 1954) is an auxiliary bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Major Archeparchy of Kyiv-Halych and titular bishop of Bareta. [1] He represents the Major Archbishop of Kyiv Halych, His Beatitude Cardinal Lubomyr Husar, and the Synod of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church at the Holy See. [2] Before his episcopal ordination in 2002, he spent some time working in the apostolic nunciature in Ukraine. [3]
His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI has named Bishop Lonchyna as Apostolic Visitor for the Ukrainian Catholics in Ireland to see what could be done to help the spiritual needs of Ukrainian Catholics living in Ireland. He also has similar responsbilities for Ukrainian Catholics living in Spain, Portugal and Italy.
