HK Drott is a handball club, based in Halmstad, Sweden. The club has won the national championships ten times, last in 2002.
It was formed as a football club in 1936. The year after a handball section was formed and in 1940 football was dropped from the programme.
The club tried to qualify for the top division of the Swedish handball league (Allsvenskan) in 1943, but failed. It had to spend several years in the second division and a few in the third until it succeed to reached Allsvenskan in 1962.
The first sejour was short as they were relegated in 1964. They did however come back to stay in 1968. The club won its first national championship in 1975 and together with Redbergslids IK dominated Swedish handball to 2000.
