Publisert 12.09.2001 11:29. Oppdatert 24.09.2001 11:15. Dr. philos i 1903. Frå 1916 busett i heimbygda, der han bygde si eiga diktarstove på “Kapteins-garden” på Skei. Denne står framleis i tunet, nærast Kyrkjevegen. (Sjå: Prestegarden på Skei.)

Har gjeve ut over 40 romanar, skodespel og fagbøker. Mellom desse er ”Fogedsgaarden” (1911) der bygdelivet i Førde er utgangspunktet for romanen. Det same var tema i ”Den gamle bygd og den nye” (1913). Samla romanar i 5 bind vart gjeve ut i 1920.

H.C. var bror til fylkesmann og statsråd Ingolf Christensen."
