Hizma (Arabic: حزما) is a Palestinian town located in the Jerusalem Governorate, located half a kilometer from the city of Jerusalem. Its land area is approximately 9,350 dunums, of which 4,787 dunums were confiscated by Israel for Israeli settlements and the West Bank barrier.[1] The town, located in Area B, is administered by the Palestinian National Authority and under the Israeli security.[2] The majority of the town's 5,700 residents are dependent on agriculture and grazing which together constitute 55% of Hizma's economy.[3]
Hizma, or Hizme, may also refer to the IDF checkpoint at the entrance/exit of the town.
