Someone want to pick a different screenshot than the LOL shaped corpses one first on the page?

Does the Hitman: Blood Money section appear to have been written by an industry PR flack, or is it just me?

What's with the description of Agent Smith in the part about the Agency? He works for the CIA, but if you read it wrong, the article says that he works for the ICA.--Domukaz, 4 July 2006

[edit] Hitman 5

Anyone got enough info on the new installment in the series to give it its own article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.105.19.210 (talk) 21:36, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Continuity

Alright, now I believe that the level Curtains Down in Blood Money comes before the level Hunter and Hunted in Contracts, but there's no official proof of this and every site I go to for the Hitman timeline says that is correct (given they're all forums for some reason). It wouldn't be hard to draw that conclusion if you've played the games and take into account that the levels in Blood Money are spread out over a 2 year period. If someone can find an offial timeline that'd be great for this predicament I'm having. Blindsnyper (talk) 06:05, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Assassins Creed is not related to the Hitman series.--98.203.193.15 (talk) 18:26, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Overhaul

I went through and made some edits to the presentation. There was a lot of information of a very subjective nature throughout this page. That has all been removed. Speculative information is gone as well and also the comparisons to other games. (While this may be true of the game, comparing this as being similar to Max Payne in gameplay is quite subjective.)

Wiki isn't the place for opinions or speculation and these have all been removed. TotalTommyTerror 18:05, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

I find the changes to the article to be too severe. Many of the good descriptions have been stripped. Certain changes were necessary, but many were not. I won't change anything, but I would support anyone who would. Avengerx 18:36, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
I think comparisons to other games of the same genre (such as Thief) can be useful to the reader, albiet not necessary. You should note that the article wasn't comparing Max Payne's gameplay style, but it's 3rd-person control scheme to Codename 47's, which are indeed extremely similar and non-subjective. I've re-included a few things I thought were important for the article which are unrelated to the removed comparisons. – Quoth 00:23, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
Comparisons like that belong in a "review" of the game, not in an info page about it. TotalTommyTerror 14:22, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
Particulary as this game was released before the first Max Payne... I was thinking the description of 47 should be moved further up the article, as there are several references in the game descriptions that don't make sense unless you know 47's history. 81.99.250.29 22:17, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removing duplicate information

Would it make sense to remove the sections about the games on this page and simply link through to the pages about each game? In a similar way to how the Splinter Cell pages work. Then we wouldn't be duplicating information. If that's a good idea I'm happy to make it happen and ensure no information is lost. Icey 12:29, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Well, since no one replied I decided to be bold and do it. Icey 17:33, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Odd..

"Dr. Ort-Meyer" is spelled "Dr. Ortmeier" in Hitman: Blood Money subtitles... -nlitement [talk] 22:05, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

In the industry it's not unheard of for subtitling to be outsourced and transcribed rather than copied in from the script. The former would probably be the canon spelling. -- Synapse 00:36, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
The spelling appears to vary; Ort-Meyer is the way the name was spelt in the first game, while a mission briefing in Contracts had him named Orthmeyer. -- [[User:Ismo Kalkku|Kalkk
In the book Hitman: Enemy Within it is spelled Ort-Meyer. I would think that this would be the most reliable source. Blackngold29 18:17, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Diana

This bit needs sorting out. The voice actress is indeed English so I'm a little puzzled as to the quote "American idea of what an English accent sounds like"

It's a quite neutral and easy to understand accent, so someone familiar to the more accented British speakers may have made that comment.. or perhaps it's best to wait till that someone responds to this entry :) Ozkaplan 11:03, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

The article also describes her an unseen character - her face is briefly shown (in a reflection, as I remember) in the ending-video to Hitman Blood Money. Uncertain if this counts. 85.91.40.15 21:10, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Somebody help me please!!!

In Hitman: Codename 47 directory I've found a file named "resources.xml" (C:\Hitman - Codename 47\Setup\Locale\language-English.zip). There are all the game dialogues, mission briefings and all the game's text. In that file, I've found some really weird sentences, that aren't involved in the game, or I couldn't find them anywhere in the game... They are:

  • (Possibly in "The Setup" mission) "Freeze - let me see some ID! Real slow now!"
  • (Possibly in "The Setup" mission) "Hey - you there. Stand still! Who are you?"
  • (Possibly in "The Setup" mission) "Stop! Police - identify yourself!"
  • (Possibly in "The Setup" mission) "Tango 6 - 3 Delta - 1 Yankee. Proceed with caution. Suspect is armed and dangerous!" (maybe a talk between SWAT members)
  • (Possibly in "Meet Your Brother" mission) "You - along with your brothers - are my true children. Now rid me of that rambunctious renegade!" (maybe a talk between Ort. Meyer and Mr. 48 clones)

There are many other sentences too, but I'm most worried about these mission descriptions in laptop:

  • (Possibly at the end of the game) "Your mission is over. Surrender your self to the police and await further instructions. We will contact you. Diana"
  • (Possibly at the end of the game) "ABORT - ABORT - ABORT RETURN TO BASE IMPENDING DANGER THE AGENCY WILL DISAVOW YOU RETURN IMMEDIATELY"
  • (Possibly at the end of the game) "ABORT - ABORT - ABORT SEVERE DANGER DO NOT ATTEMPT FURTHER ADVANCES THIS IS AN ORDER"

Everybody knows that when 47 kills Ort. Meyer, the game is over, and there's no after mission description in laptop. What are those sentences?

Write everything in the world you know about this sentences, please! I'm in turmoil for this problem since 2002! I WILL AWARD THE USER THAT HELPS ME SOLVING THIS PROBLEM! --Aeternus 17:24, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

It's stuff IO cut from early versons of the game but never took out of the code. Now where is my award. Kyle Burris 02:00, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Weapon list

Is the weapon list really necessary and appropriate? It's too long and any possibly interesting weapons could be merged into the prose. ----ZeroOne (talk | @) 14:40, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merge Film

The film needs to be merged into this page. There should be a "Film" section on this page, detailing what relevant information about the film there is. Why? First, the film has not been green-lit, if you go HERE, at the bottom you will see where it states that the "studio advised IGN that the film has not been green-lit". Since Wiki is not a crystal ball, we cannot assume that it will be green-lit, thus it does not warrant its own page. Secondly, there isn't even a lead cast. There are conflicting reports that Olyphant replaced Diesel, and Olyphant has stated otherwise. Also, please be registered if you are going to vote, it becomes difficult to make sure one user isn't signing on to multiple IP addresses. Thank you. Bignole 16:40, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

VOTE:

  • Merge - Bignole Dido for Erik's new found information Bignole 20:32, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Merge - Wiki-newbie 16:43, 14 January 2007 (UTC). Oppose per new information. Wiki-newbie 19:02, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Merge, as there is encyclopedic information to preserve; just not enough to warrant its own article. Do not merge. Official announcement of Olyphant cast into the lead role with director Xavier Gens attached and production to begin in March made me change my mind. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 16:48, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Is this a melee weapon?

In Blood Money, at one point you can intentionally drop weights (like a bench-press weights-bar) on one victim while he's working out. Would this count as a melee weapon?, or would it be more along the lines of 'turn on the gas and wait for an explosion'-type of weapon?

(I guess I'm asking if a Melee weapon: is handheld and portable? : or a random object that's used as a weapon.) JimmmyThePiep 02:12, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

I think a melee weapon is something you use to attack someone, most probably in a fight. If you pick up the weight and hit someone with it that would be using it as a weapon. The man can accidentaly drop the weight and kill himself. 47 only facilitates this "accident". So i think in this case the weight is not a weapon because it was not really intended to be a weapon, it's an accident. Of course it's all a matter of definition.. Ozkaplan 11:13, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wrong statements about the usage of projectile weaponry.

"In Hitman 2, excepting the final mission, the game can be completed using only two bullets (one in the St. Petersburg Stakeout level and another in the Motorcade Interception level. In the Kirov Park Meeting level it is possible to not have to use the sniper rifle by planting car bombs.)" - Wrong. You do not need to shoot a bullet in St. Petersburg. You can sneak into the meeting and garrote the target. But you DO need to use a bullet for breaking a window on a level I can't remember..."Night Shift" or something like that. In the Kirov Park Meeting mission it is possible to cut the throat of both generals with one cut if you can do this while they are hugging. That is better cause the bombs kill serveral other NPC and the work is not "clean" enough then. Motorcade Interception requires a bullet, altough there were some obscure instructions about killing the target by using the fire axe in the moment when his jeep enters the city gate.

Changed the article according to what I have said above. 84.236.19.197 18:46, 27 April 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Wrong Statement about chromosomes

It is a common misunderstanding that 47 has 47 chromosomes. On the last level of C:47 Ort-meyer says "the 47 chromosomes" by which he probably means that the chromosomes of the project 47(since as a clone he was a "project"). The information is incorrect. We have no canonized information about the number of his chromosomes so I will change the article accordingly. Ubox 20:04, 17 May 2007 (UTC)ubox

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Hit Logo bloodmoney.jpg

Image:Hit Logo bloodmoney.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:47, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hitman Trilogy

Does it really need an infobox? It creates a whole lot of white space and I don't think it can be filled with anything. There's not a lot of what can be said about a compilation. --Mika1h 21:37, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Fixed it for ya --Taylor 04:47, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

That looks like shit, I've hidden the infobox instead. --MrStalker talk 15:49, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Insignia

I have looked on the xbox market place and this is called the Fleur-de-lis. I am not sure if this is correct and may help the article or xbox may have it wrong i am not sure so could someone who knows help and update the article if it is correct.Joseph 098 20:47, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

No, this is not a Fleur-de-lis. This is a symbol created for the game that resembles a lily. The Fleur-de-lis is a symbol of certain European monarchies. Diablomarcus 14:41, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Maybe we should just limit the character list

I think bios for 47 and Diana are good, but the rest requires a lot of source quotes. Characters who only appear in specific games should be moved to those respective articles. Johnnyfog 21:30, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Who took away my stuff?

I would like to know who took away my information thats states that in the hitman film, Diana is voiced by Lisa Jacobs and Agent Smith is played by James Faulkner. Please stop removing it as I have seen the film many times in theaters and looked at the credits several times and that is the most reliable source you can get. stop removing it. --75.75.61.5 (talk) 22:29, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Who is writing this??

Unlike the game wherein the hitmen are all clones, the Organization instead recruits orphans and trains them from an early age.

The only clone the ICA employs in the game is agent 47. There is no saying about other clones and besides he is the only surviving clone in the world and the only "perfect" one. It doesn't employ only clones... Who is writing this nonesense?? I have seen this in other articles about Hitman and it bothers me very much. MihaS (talk) 23:02, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hitman Date of Birth

Some good to know information on his date of birth. http://www.hitman2.com/content/history_1989.htm I am surpised that no one bought this up earlier.

Shouldnt this find a place in the wiki?
