[edit] Image:Hitler Blondi Berghof.jpg
- Copyright violation. Claims FairUse in Hitler, but free images of Object exist in article already. Images are subject to copyright under WP:PD#World_War_II_images and as a Frentz photo subject of previous legal action threat [1] see Talk:Hitler — 82.29.229.254 19:56, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- What about the fair use claim in Blondi? (Unfree photo, but no other image of the subject is available). - Mike Rosoft 12:05, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Might be applicable but I listed it along with the previous legal threat to show that its a copyright pursued aggressively by the holder. The image already exists in commons [2] with copyright incorrectly stated to be PD. Images of Blondi held PD by German government likely do exist so using a Frentz as FairUse doesnt apply, eg.[3] is also not PD German government [4]. This is a matter for the uploader to exhaust with research by first concluding that no PD image exists rather than just assume as has been the case here. 82.29.229.116 12:54, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Images of the animal apparently exist in Hitler's Home Movies a screenshot of which would not infringe copyright of Ullstein Bild. Whatever this clip was taken from also has images of the dog 1:39 minutes in:[5] 82.29.229.116 18:18, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New discussion
The dog is deceased, so no new photos can be made of Blondi (obviously). No public domain photos of Blondi are known to exist. User:82.29.229.116 suspects there might be some, but has found no examples. (A screenshot 1:39 into this YouTube photo would provide an alternative; however I see no evidence that it is a public domain image either.) This image cannot be used to illustrate Hitler, since free photos of Hitler exist. But it can be used to illustrate Blondi, at least until it can be shown that a free replacement exists or could be created. – Quadell (talk) (random) 15:04, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
