Template talk:History of the Netherlands

Ok thank you. With the addition of the Batavian Revolution my feeling of this era named rise and fall of the republic is satisfied; and I agree the Batavian Republic was a prelude to monarchy. Arnoutf 08:17, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Short template

Hi all; I like the template, but I have a question. The list is fairly long and detailed, and does not fit equally well on all page (cf Eighty Years' War). Would there be a possibility to have a 'short form' with only the major era's (ancient time - and not subdivide in Germanic tribes etc), for inclusion on some pages? Arnoutf 18:12, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

I think it would be possible I'll see what I can do.

Another posibility is making a special time template just for a period in time let's say 1500 - 1700. Rex Germanus Tesi samanunga is edele unde scona 20:27, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps we can do something like this Template:HistNl Republic, where you have detailed info on the era, and only the general era's. Wikilinking the Era's should lead somewhere useful though. Arnoutf 18:05, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Templates

Something like this?

The Dutch Republic
The United Provinces
Eighty Years' War
The Battles
Treaty of Westphalia
[Edit this template]

Perhaps with reference to History of the Netherlands

Perhaps a link to History of the Netherlands; something like this? Arnoutf 20:13, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

History of the Netherlands
The Dutch Republic
1584-1795
Eighty Years' War
United Provinces
The Golden Age
The Batavian revolution
[Edit this template]

Yeah that looks nice.

Ok put it under Template:HistNl Republic. If desired we can design similar small forms for each ear. Arnoutf 20:47, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

I changed the image to , from something with an hourglass over it. -68.230.150.72 18:28, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] How about a collapsible template?

I have been playing a bit with the collapsible navtemplates. I think it may be usefull to design these in a nested way for the Netherlands series, because these smaller templates distort articles to a lesser degree, while still containing all the information. I know the one below is far from finished, but just as a showcase before I start tweaking. Post here what you thinn of this idea, thanks Arnoutf 16:52, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
