Template talk:History of cricket
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Any particular reason the West Indian cricket team features on this but no other team does? Its not really part of the overall history of cricket like the other events in the list are, at least I don't think so anyway. Tony2Times 01:13, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
- I think you'll find the article is on "History of the West Indian cricket team". Ideally, of course, we'd have an article on the history of all the eight major Test teams, possibly Zimbabwe too since it's as turbulent. (Bangladesh's history isn't long enough for an own article yet, I'd think). Sam Vimes 07:07, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm, I see what you mean but would it not be better to link to one page that has an overview of the Test teams and a brief history, then have See: links to the more detailed pages?Tony2Times 17:34, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

- Sort of a History of Test cricket (or History of international cricket)? Maybe, but those pages don't exist yet, unfortunately. I wouldn't object greatly if the West Indian team was removed, though, as I can see that it's slightly out of place. Sam Vimes 20:08, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Portal link
I removed the Portal link on the template as it is not appropriate for templates used on Articles to have cross-namespace links. Portal space is not part of the article content. Ansell 12:07, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
