Needs more references (preferably inline citations), lead needs expansion (see WP:LEAD), and one or two more fair use acceptable pics (free ones are ideal of course). Also has some formatting issues see History of the New York Giants for an example of a good article on the subject. In addition try to remove the self reference from the lead, and the sentence about the Yankees comparison in the lead is most probably OR (Packers would be the Yankees of the NFL if you went by titles), it needs to go.
