[edit] Ybor
Given that the memorial to Ybor in Ybor City notes his names as Vicente Martinez Ybor, and not Vincente, and that Vicente seems to be the preferred spelling in city publications and at the Ybor City State Historic Park, I've changed the spelling here, at the Tampa article, and redirected the current stub. Or at any rate I will have done so shortly... Thehappysmith 12:12, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] pre-Columbian history
I really think that this article (and the main Tampa article) should include more about life here before the arrival of Spanish explorers. I'll get started on it (soon), but the more the merrier... Zeng8r 19:57, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] British Rule
The sentance starts "Great Britain acquired Florida in 1763..." so why is it titled 'English Rule'? Did England, somehow operating separately from Britain acquire Florida? Or is this yet again a result of incorrect British Isles (terminology). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.98.207.183 (talk) 07:54, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] 20th century history
Before tackling the pre-Columbian stuff, I'm going to work on the more recent past first. It looks like I'll have to re-do pretty much everything, and I'll probably dump the kid flying into the building story (not relevent to Tampa history as a whole, imo) and the wildfires section (ditto, tho I'll include the '04 hurricane season).
Any thoughts, anyone? Zeng8r 19:30, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] U of Tampa info deletion
Why was the reference to UT's continued existence deleted? I can't think of a good reason and the edit summary doesn't make sense, imo. Zeng8r 18:52, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:U.S Custom House c1905.jpg
Image:U.S Custom House c1905.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
