Talk:History of Montreal
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Somebody added this: three towns (Pointe-aux-Trembles, Rivière des Prairies and Saint-Michel) were annexed to Montreal in 1978. I know for a fact that Pointe-aux-Trembles merged with Montreal in 1982, not 1978. I think Saint-Michel merged in 1968 but I am not sure. Maybe someone who knows more about the history of Montreal can fix this. Paul99 21:38, 2 Oct 2004 (UTC)

"The first permanent European settlement was established in 1639 " because it is FALSE...the first permanent European settlement in Quebec was Quebec city in 1608.

Should be deleted. If you search for Montreal you get the main article on the city (including its history) that, unlike this article, is well written. Xtrump 03:41, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

- No, this article should be improved and the main article edited down, and they have been. See: Wikipedia:Main article fixation. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 15:42, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
