[edit] Deletion???
Since the text is copy-paste of "Rise to prominence" in Ganesha and Ganesha became a FA with that text, I don't think that WP needs this article. Though there was a consensus for the formation on Talk:Ganesha/Archive_5#What_this_article_needs_-imo for it's formation and the article was created on "03:10, 29 September 2007". There has no edits (major/minor) to the article since "05:52, 15 December 2007.". - The only alternative would be to keep this article, and reduce the "Rise to Prominence" section of Ganesha to a short summary, which is sometimes done with FAs. Since I don't know best practice regarding FAs and summary sections, I don't have an opinion on which of these two is the best choice. But it should be one or the other in my opinion (delete this article or summarize the now identical section at Ganesha). ~ priyanath talk 16:47, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

- I second Priyanath's suggestion that we should ideally shorten the Ganesha#Rise to prominence section and expand the content here. Unfortunately User:Buddhipriya who was one of the main contributor to this and the Ganesha article is not around and I won't have the time in the near future to take up the task myself (especially, since I'll need to re-borrow the relevant library books for the purpose), but I would trust any decision you two make. On the positive side, though the article is redundant, it is still informative, well-written and stable so there need not be any urgency to expanding/deleting it. Regards.
