[edit] Controversial statements

Aside from the obvious linguistic errors, it seems this article has been edited in order to represent the view of somebody who is biased with regards to this character and his associates:

"HIs association with a notorius charlatan like Mr. Nazim al-Qubrusi however prevents him from being taken seriously by the overwhelming majority of Muslims. That is really a pity since - differently from Nazim - Hisham Kabbani is learnt in Islam."

"For more than fifty years he has been a disciple of the very controversial charlatan Nazim al-Qubrusi, whose fake claims of leadership of the Naqshbandi Order were refuted by the most outstanding Naqshbandi Shaykhs of our time. Hisham Kabbani's reputation is negatively affected by his connection to a person who is known to most of Muslims as a liar and an impostor."

"...opened thirteen so-called Sufi outreach centers, focused on spreading a New-Age-oriented, fake version fo Sufism in order to attact hippies, pop stars, etc."

"His connection to Nazim however prevent most of moderate Muslims to cooperate with him."

According to the rules for biographies, all unsourced controversial material must be removed immediately. Therefore I'll take out the above quoted lines since I think it is clear to even one who does not know of Hisham Kabbani that it is potentially slanderous.

[edit] A Persistent Anti-Kabbani!

Once again the blatantly insulting material has been added in.

I will do the honours...

[edit] Astaghfirullah!

Has the so-called majority in Islam lost any kind of sensorium for Sainthood? Have they indeed degenerated to the level of robots, that, although claiming to represent the Sunna, seem to have forgotten about the glorious mysticism around the prophet Muhammad s. a. w. s.? They claim to follow what in fact they have lost out of sight! In that way they hardly differ from the Western propagators of 'enlightenment' and 'reason'. Instead of supporting the most truthful way of Islam in all its beauty and full dimension, they present it as some more or less meaningless thing. Have they never thought about, why they so miserably fail in attracting spiritual seekers of the West? There is no juice emanating from them. They believe the letter is theirs, and yet they miss actual noor! So how can haqq be on their side, if they are grey like ash? - One has to personally meet spiritual figures such as Sheikh Hisham Kabbani and Grandsheikh Nazim Qubrusi in order to realize the difference between talkers and Saints! Unless one is totally brainwashed or explicitely evil, one must sense in one's heart a quality of supreme holiness, love and nobility being transmitted from them onto their surrounding! - Assalaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatu! --Ahmad Jamal as Saif 12:05, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merger proposal

There is an article, As-Sayyid Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani Al Haqqani Al Rabbani, which appears to reference this same individual, Hisham Kabbani. Both articles reference a Lebanese birth and leadership in the same and/or similar organizations. The two articles should be merged. I attempted to do a redirect to the As-Sayyid article, only to find that the redirect already lead to the Hisham version. There's good content in both, so I would recommend that the two articles be Merged. Best, ZZ Claims ~ Evidence 14:20, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Upon inspection, it is indeed an article about the same person. Please merge. MezzoMezzo 15:33, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

As the new article has been listed for CSD, that appears to take care of any possible merger. However, I find that there is some moderate value in the list of published works compiled there, so I'm adding them to the talk page. Perhaps they can be incorporated into this article? No opinion one way or the other - but thought I'd toss them into the pot, as they appear to be the only NPOV element of the forked article - and, it's verifiable as to whether they were indeed written by the subject. Published Works

It is a decent list, and the ISBN numbers are good in case readers want to look up the books. I'm all for adding them to the article. Good work on the merger, btw. MezzoMezzo 03:35, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
