Hisako Ōishi

Hisako Ōishi (大石 尚子? born 1936) is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party of Japan, a member of the House of Councillors in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Kanagawa Prefecture and graduate of Yokohama National University, she served in the assembly of Kanagawa Prefecture for five terms since 1971 and in the House of Representatives in Diet for two terms since 2000. After that, she made an unsuccessful run for the House of Councillors in 2005 and another in 2007. On December 28, 2007 she took over the seat left vacant by Takashi Yamamoto when he died of cancer.
