Talk:Hirohiko Myouun Kabane/Archive 1

Kabane Eyesight
All evidence lead me to believe that Kabane family can see by the way they talk. Some examples are that Myouun Kabane can see is that he makes a comment that Aya's age isn't what it looks like and also he says about Senhime: "a female child... I heard about her but… I see now". Hirhiko also makes visual references about Aya being cute and having a bust and about Mitsuomi's hair. These are things that can not be smelled, heard, and the characters are not illustrated touching. As for the symbols I think they have to do with Buddhism, but not sure. However, Myouun was a Buddhist priest (Chapter 91, Page 114). (Duane543 22:11, 29 April 2007 (UTC))
- i tried to make it clear that its not a sure thing. there were some wierd things like myouuns nickname and hirohikos borderline creepy smelling of aya. also he knew nokimi had the box cutter even tho it was out of sight...doesn't necissarily mean he's blind but he at least has some enhanced senses. He also tends to keep his eyes closed anyway so its almost self inflicted blindness lol. from a biological perspective i don't know how u could see clearly without a pupil, granted that doesn't necissarily apply in a work of fiction lol. the main reason i included that section is an excuse to talk about the enhanced sense of smell, the eyes composed entirely of a sclera with no iris or pupil, and the almost constantly having his eyes closed. i tried other ways but i had difficulty covering that stuff without seemingly rambling incoherantly lol. if u can think of a way to write that in (cuz i do think its important) without the possible blindiness being involved go ahead. given its speculative natures its kind of anti-wiki but i did it anyway. --Grimjaw 22:33, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
He probably feels the vibrations in the air sorta like bats use sonar when they make noises the sound waves bounce off an object and sends it back towards the bat.--Cojin 02:53, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
107 changes
given events in 107 i belive blindness is now confirmed. he stabs his eye and says light is like shackles to the family power...i still don't understand if the sense of smell is inherited or learned from being blind tho. i mean light could be shackles in the sense that they rely on it instead of the sense of smell they already have; or it could be shackles in the sense that having sight prevents the acquireing of enhanced senses of smell.
also with the ability to use dust, which seems to have slightly different mechanics i decided to re-arrange the powers section. it also raised a few questions on the limitations of the power for me as well. before i thought he could only make blades, now i don't see what stops him from say making a dust cloud in to a chair or some shit.
neways i just wanted to explain some of the stuff i did in case it was unclear why.
