[edit] Plot
With time apparently stopped, Peter encounters Hiro on a New York subway train. Hiro informs Peter he is from the future and that Isaac and his paintings will help save the city. He says "Save the cheerleader, save the world." After this encounter, Peter is unable to convince the skeptical Mohinder to return to Isaac's apartment. Mohinder just wants to go home to India to bury his father and retire from his research.
Claire and Brody have survived their crash and are seen in the hospital. Claire's mother dials a cell.
In Las Vegas, Mr. Bennet and The Haitian walk Nathan Petrelli from the hotel at gunpoint. Nathan manages to escape and fly away.
Niki Sanders wakes up in the morning in Nathan's hotel room, Niki has no idea where she is. Nor does she know where Nathan is when his security detail asks for him. Niki doesn't understand how her debt is now absolved, but then sees footage of her having sex with Nathan.
Peter tells Mohinder exactly what happened in the frozen moment of time but this is not enough to change his mind.
Meanwhile, Janice Parkman is worried sick about her missing husband, but worry turns to anger when she discovers him waking up on their couch. As Matt wakes up on his own couch, he recalls working with the FBI, but doesn't know where he's been for the past day. Reading her thoughts, Matt is surprised to learn how much Janice still cares about him, even through they hardly speak anymore.
Ando and Hiro suffer a beating and end up at a desert diner. They argue about Ando's "Internet stripper" (Niki Sanders). Ando storms out and Hiro sees Nathan Petrelli land outside.
Matt and Janice have a romantic day.
Hiro befriends Nathan and tells of what he knows, about New York and how they each have powers. Nathan is not sure what to believe but agrees to give Hiro a ride back to Las Vegas.
Hospitalized after her intentional car crash, Claire tells her father what happened at the bonfire and admits that she attempted to hurt Brody by driving into the wall, but she really just wanted to prevent him from attacking other girls. Mr. Bennet promises he won't tell anyone.
In New York, Peter arrives at Isaac's without Mohinder Suresh. Isaac asks Peter what he wants now after already taken Simone away from him. Peter tells Isaac about his path and that Isaac was supposed to know the way. Peter realizes Isaac's paintings are a story, with the last being a final incomplete picture depicting a shadowy figure and the cheerleader (Claire).
Back in Las Vegas, Nathan sees Niki again. Though she doesn't remember sleeping with him, as her alter-ego did that, she warns him about Mr. Linderman's blackmailing.
Mr. Bennet then visits Brody's room with his associate. Brody's memory is severely altered. Claire would soon learn he doesn't remember her, or even his own name.
In Isaac's loft, Peter syncs to Isaac's power in an attempt to discover who the shadowy figure is.
Niki Sanders returns home to find the police on her doorstep. Ando appears, causing a massive scare, as the cops had mistaken him for Niki's fugitive husband D.L. Hawkins.
As Nathan checks out of the hotel, Mr. Linderman's representative has a few words with him about the tape of his encounter with Niki. Nathan turns the situation around by asking for an additional four million dollars in campaign funds. If he was so important to go through all this trouble for two million, then four million will guarantee his victory, making him even more valuable to Linderman in the future.
Matt goes to the store for ice cream. He stops a robbery but is mistaken for the robber himself. The thoughts of the customers cause him to pass out.
Ando leaves without gaining any help from Niki. D.L. shows up for real. Hiro reconciles with Ando and they continue on their quest to look for Isaac.
Peter and Isaac stare at Peter's finished painting: a gruesome image of Claire turned upside down, the top of her head missing, splayed out in a sea of her own blood, just like the other murderer in previous episodes.
The phone rings. Isaac says it's 'some Japanese guy'. Peter realizes it is Hiro and answers. "My name's Peter Petrelli," he says, "I have a message for you."
