[edit] Picture
No photo, but a drawing should illustrate the concept as well. A good lens shot would still be best though. Jafet 09:53, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- Actually I think that illustrates the point of the Hippo rather well. Artw 16:46, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

- I would like to add the image found at the bottom of this page: http://www.africafoundation.org/what_we_do/healthcare.php. Do you feel the image is appropriate? I have emailed Africa Foundation and asked for permission to use the image on Wikipedia. If there any further efforts I can take to get permission to use the image, please tell me here or on my user page. Roccasecca (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 22:58, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Proposed Efforts
I've "adopted" this stub and plan to expand it over the next two months in collaboration with other users. My initial efforts will be to:
-
- primarily expand upon the content with sourced information.
- develop appropriate internal and external links.
- add applicable photographs illustrating traditional means of carrying water vs. the Hippo water roller. Roccasecca (talk) 19:07, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Incorrect Time on History Page
I posted this:
Infotech, an information technology company, initially sponsored the project as a social responsibility project known as the Hippo Water Roller Trust Fund [1]. Currently, the project is supported financially by donor funding which comes from corporate businesses and non-profit organization partners such asAfrica Foundation and Operation Hunger [2]. Imvubu Projects, a private company supplying poverty alleviation products (PAP) is a South African supplier [3]. 'Water to the People' a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO), located in the United States of America, works specifically to raise funds for the Hippo Water Roller[4].
before 11:00 P.M. central time on April 9, 2008. The history page said I posted it 3:48, 10 April 2008 (3,405 bytes).
Why is this occuring?
- I understand why this was occuring and have changed my preferences to reflect my correct date and time. Roccasecca (talk) 05:45, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Video
There is a 3+ minute news piece on the Hippo Water Roller at this site: http://www.changemakers.net/en-us/node/6924. The air date was January 16, 1996 according to http://www.hipporoller.org/?Task=system&CategoryID=4882&HeadingText=Media+Exposure.
I'm calling for other users to watch the piece and discuss whether the inclusion of it on Wikipedia in its entirety would be objective. If appropriate and feasible, the most encyclical portions may be added. Roccasecca (talk) 00:49, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
