Talk:HIPAA compliant email postscript
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I posted this article in advance of the Tuesday, May 8th medical blog carnival Grand Rounds in association with this article, which was submitted to the week's carnival editor.
Although many people use the postscript it makes no sense: if e-mail comes through secure channel and reaches the addressee he doesn't need that postscript, if e-mail will be passed to the 3rd party who is not supposed to read it, the postscript will not save you from criminal penalty under HIPAA law for disclosure of private information.
And besides, nobody reads those postscripts :) LokiThread
I totally concur. The fact is that many people use these regardless of their legal standing. I developed the one here to hopefully set a standard of at least education, as very few people use PGP or even S/MIME.Niels Olson 01:16, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
