Hippias Rex was the son of General Peisistratos of Athens. He succeeded his father as tyrant of Athens in the year 528/527 BCE. In 510 BCE Sparta expelled him from Athens and Hippias fled to the Persians who are later defeated in their attempt to conquer Greece.
