Talk:Hindustan Movement
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I do have the permissions from the cited site. It is a general introduction and it will be rewritten any way very shortly. Please allow some time. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sahastrabhuj (talk • contribs).
- Frankly I'm also concerned about the intent of this as well. You'll need to make sure it passes WP:BIO, and maybe WP:SPAM. -WarthogDemon 22:54, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- Adding to that, simply "having permission" isn't enough unless you've gone through the proper channels. -WarthogDemon 22:56, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Can you please advice what exactly I have to do to or add to show authenticity that I can use. Please allow me sometime as I am learning to post at wiki. There is no copyright issue at all.
- Admittedly I am not sure as far as copyright permission. I'll contact someone who'll know. -WarthogDemon 23:24, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Thank you. I will meanwhile rewrite and work on the article to make in more appropriate. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sahastrabhuj (talk • contribs).

- The article should be rewritten in neutral prose. Other sites can be used as resources, but not sources for the full text.
-
- That said, in order to use text from another site, we wouldn't just need "permission" from them. They would have to license the text under GFDL or release it into the public domain. That's usually more than most sites are willing to do (if they haven't already), since that basically allows anybody to use their text however they choose. —C.Fred (talk) 00:41, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notability concerns
The other big issue with the article is whether it passes the WP:WEB criteria for notability. The Yahoo Internet Life award might qualify it. However, I'm surprised that there's nowhere on Yahoo where the award is archived! If somebody can point me to a source, please do; I didn't turn it with a Google search.
And yes, I said WP:WEB criteria. After going to the aforementioned site, it's a web forum. Like I said, the award may give it notability, but I want an independent source to tell me they got the award and a bit more about it. —C.Fred (talk) 00:48, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Housekeeping alert
I'm deleting the copyvio version and immediately replacing it with my complete rewrite. —C.Fred (talk) 01:01, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, creating it at the proper title of Hindustan Movement. —C.Fred (talk) 01:03, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Much better, with some more sources, I think this new article will satisy most. Keep up the good work.Pianoman7692 01:06, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
