Talk:Hindoo

[edit] Pronunciation
I question whether "Hindoo" should be considered an archaism as attested hereto. Should it not, rather, be said to be lesser used? "Hindoo" is pronounced with the "oo" sound of "tool" and "school," while the en vogue spelling of "Hindu" is correctly pronounced with the "u" sound of "fuel" and "mule." I certainly hear more of the former than the latter in every-day speech. 67.101.243.74 01:47, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- I agree, it's just like saree, sari; sheeva, shiva, siva--a more literal Romanization. 156.34.228.223 (talk) 01:01, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
