Hinlopen Strait (Norwegian: Hinlopenstredet) is the strait between Spitsbergen and Nordaustlandet (North East Land) in Svalbard. It is 150 km long and 10–60 km broad. The strait is difficult to pass because of pack ice. It is named for the Dutchman Thijmen Jacobsz Hinlopen.
