The words in Romanized Hebrew are:
Hinay ma tov u’manayim
Shevet akh-im gam ya-ghad
Translated, the hymn means, "How good it is to sit together with companions[2]."
[edit] Origins
The hymn is Syrian in origin.[3] It is inspired by Psalm 133, which reads, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!"[4] Traditionally, the hymn would be accompanied by Arabic instruments such as the oud, kanun, and ney[5].
