Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) is a Government of India owned Public Sector Undertaking located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It is India's first and oldest shipyard.

In 1940, Walchand Hirachand started the construction of the shipyard, initially known as Scindia Shipyard. Jal Usha, the first ship to be constructed fully in India was built here in 1948 and inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. A few months later, the government took control of the shipyard, given the importance of this industry for the growth of economy. In 1961, it fully acquired the shipyard.

Primarily engaged in ship building, the Hindustan Shipyard Limited has constructed over a hundred vessels. It was the first shipyard in India to be awarded ISO-9001 quality accreditation.
