[edit] Character
Himeno has a somewhat tomboyish personality, and being unlike her two new step-sisters, feels alien-like in comparison. In the first episode, Himeno is seen in high spirits about adjusting to life with her now extended family, but a cruel prank from Mayune causing her chair to collapse beneath her is only the start of Himeno's alienation. When Mayune and Mawata leave her behind when going to school (causing Himeno to be late once again) she runs into Hayate in a state of panic. Later on, when the rest of Leafe Knights confront her after learning she is the next Pretear, she declines their offer believing it's another cruel prank designed to show her up.
Soon after running away from the Knights, she turns back after remembering Hayate's insults, only to see a demon larvae attacking
Ironically, the 'hime' part of Himeno's name means 'princess', which could also refer to her Cinderella role as the next Pretear.
She enjoys gardening and martial arts (karate, kendo, aikido, tai-chi), a tender balance from both her feminine and tomboyish side.
After her mother's death and her father's remarriage, Himeno is thrust into a high-class society life. However, Himeno has great difficulty adjusting to her new life, and is picked on both by her new family, and by her peers at school. As Himeno's alienation grows, and she begins to question her place with her new life, she meets Hayate and the other Leafe Knights, who tell her that she's the Prétear who is needed to save the world. Himeno usually feels distant from her family, like Cinderella.
