Himalayan Bank Limited (HBL) is the largest and one of leading private sector banks of Nepal. The Bank was incorporated in 1992 by a few distinguished personalities of Nepal in partnership with the employees Provident Fund and Habib Bank Limited, Pakistan. The Bank commenced its operations from January 1993. Himalayan Bank is also the first commercial bank of Nepal whose maximum shares are held by Nepalses private sectors. Besides commercial banking services, the Bank also offers industrial and merchant banking service.
With its head office or the corporate office at Thamel,Kathmandu, the bank has 17 branches. Six of its branches are located inside the Kathmandu Valley and the rest are spread across the nation.
