[edit] A Prodigy!
I just listened to her stunning performing the Shostakovich Violin Concerto No. 1. I can only imagine how good she will be in another 20 years!
- I saw her a few years ago, and she was phenominal. I saw her play the double violin concerto by Bach at the Peninsula Music Festival. Splent 22:40, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Article too long
With all due respect, this article looks as if it was written by Hilary Hahn's mother. It is full of commonplace, dull, useless information. It should be thoroughly edited to remove trivialities & excessive detail. --AVM 13:42, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- I would certainly agree here. We need some a more NPOV and objective writing. Gautam Discuss 02:03, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- Seconded. How much detail do you thnk could go. I can cut the article down but don't want to go too far, if you know what I mean. Please let me know. Jonyungk 20:14, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
not to mention the fact that the listing of the brand of strings and rosin she uses seems much more promotional than informative.Toyokuni3 (talk) 18:59, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fan photo
This image seems clearly inappropriate per WP:IMAGE#Image choice and placement. Assuming that one or more of the editors who have uploaded it, added it, or restored it to the article is also related to the persons pictured there seems to be some WP:COI issues as well. Please do not keep adding it to the article. -MrFizyx 20:05, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- p.s. The child is, of course, adorable. But still... MrFizyx 20:33, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
I think the photo tells something about Hilary's personality (and her relationship with the audience) and therefore should be put back in the article. Besides it is a natural photo (i.a.w. no make-up) of her. Besides #2 what is wrong with adding a little "life" to a Wikipedia article? Mariah-Yulia (talk) 21:32, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
she quite clearly is wearing makeup.Toyokuni3 (talk) 15:41, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hmmm... what does it tell that is unique or notable? Lots of musicians sign autographs. Is there an article about her in a reliable source that discusses her interaction with fans? If not, doesn't the claim in the caption violate wikipedia's policy regarding no original research?
- If you like this photo of Hahn you could always crop it as a headshot. It may be a decent, natural photo, though it appears she does have on make-up from the performace that she just finished. OR we could put out a Wikipedia Requests for comment to get an additional opinion on the use of the photo.
- I have one other question. You claim here that this is your own private picture. However, another editor indicates here that he took the photo. I'm confused. Who is the orignal owner of the photo and do you have a conflict of interest? It is one thing to want to add "life" to an article, it is another thing to want to add your personal life to wikipedia articles. -MrFizyx (talk) 15:26, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
