[edit] End of reverts?

Thank you for the great references and neutral version of the article, Irpen! One suggestion: should we return the Ukrainian and Russian Bio-stubs to encourage people to add to the article? Again, it's a great edit.-tufkaa 05:58, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

That's, shamefully, not a great edit since I lacked time. I added nothing to the article except the links which someone would hopefully use to expand it or I might if I ever get to it. As for the reverts, the anon strongly looked like a sock and his edit did not improve the article in any way. His also supplied a false summary (actually twice). Following his edit, other user could have started to expand the article but in view of the poor merit of the particular edit, and especially, with the strong signs of sockpuppetry, it was totally acceptable to revert in this particular case. I am glad that you found time to expand the article somewhat. I hope it will undergo some neutral expansion. --Irpen 06:10, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stub cats

As for the stubs, UA and RU stubs would be incorrect. He was neither of Russia nor of Ukraine in modern sense. I created the East-Slavic-history stub template a very long time ago and avoidance of such problems was one of the reasons I had in mind. More at this board of the pre-Portal times.

While at it, I would like to bring an important consern: the Ukraine-hist-stub template I created a while ago was deleted and as I recreated it (since no one explained why), it has been blanked into a redirect by the stub sorters who now demand at least 60 articles to qualify for a separate stub cat. More at my talk here and here. I could have easily created 20-30 or so missing articles by, say, taking arbitrary cossack battles and writing one-sentence articles but this would represent an activity I very much dislike. If you have any idea and desire to pursue the recreation of the stub as well as the Category:History of Ukraine stubs, please feel free to act and you can count of my support. I was too discouraged by being chasticed at the time. --Irpen 06:29, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
