Talk:High Zero
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Article was marked for deletion as non-notable, yet High Zero is notable and unique as a US improvised music festival. In addition, wikipedia does not yet contain much information on free improvised music in general. --Ravelite 23:56, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

There was a previous article on High Zero? The festival seems to be mentioned by both City Paper: Best of Baltimore and allaboutjazz.com. --Ravelite 00:09, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
In addition, the characterization of this article as reposted content in the template is incorrect. Author has not seen original article, as it was deleted before I knew it existed. --Ravelite 00:13, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
The issues that plagued the previous article are irrelevant with respect to this one. Article is verifiable and notable based on two outside sources discussing the festival. Text is not copied verbatim from anywhere, ruling out the possibility of copyright violation. --Ravelite 00:19, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Now that High Zero is established as notable, here are some possible sources of material:
- High Zero (comic book character)
- a comp CD from HZ
- LaDonna Smith's notes on HZ2005 from the improvisor
- starry night, a notable work from a possibly notable HZ2005 performer, mazen kerbaj
- recordings from past High Zeroes
- Phil Minton recordings
- Extended technique and Ululation may be more appropriate for the vocal improv link.
